My 24 years of experience, and current practice in nursing, have provided me the grounding for the work I do as a qualified hypnotherapist in Edinburgh.
I have worked as a nurse in oncology, palliative care and now as a nurse in the community. This extensive experience has given me a wide breadth of knowledge about health and well-being, and the impact that illness has on individuals and their families.
Over my career I have seen how a person’s psychological state impacts their quality of life. I believe that everyone has the capacity to improve their physical and mental health if they are given the tools to do so.
Hypnotherapy is the latest in a series of therapies, including therapeutic massage, oncology massage, and reiki which I have trained in over the last 14 years. This alongside my nursing underpins my holistic approach to health and well-being.
I have chosen to train in hypnotherapy in particular as its rapid effects enables me to help people to quickly overcome problems that they may have been facing for years. I regularly use self hypnosis and find it has been excellent at helping me overcome the challenges of daily life.
I am a Member of the National Council of Psychotherapists (NCP) and The Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHP) which is the Register accredited by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care. I have a BA Honours in Nursing from Queen Margaret University. I hold an ITEC diploma in Therapeutic Massage, a Diploma in Oncology massage, and have been a Reiki Master since 2004.
